Sub-case 02 — Security in Member Hands

Peer-Driven Security & Safety

Safety is not a static checkbox. Trust should be community-verified and member-controlled.

Security & PrivacyPeer VerificationBoundary Control

Overview

Traditional central verification relies on static checks that fail to stop harassment, catfish, or bad actors once inside the app. By decentralizing verification and liveness challenges, members are given direct control over their interaction pools. This enforces boundaries that match their personal comfort level before opening interactions and communication.

Problem statement

The Problem: Upfront, centralized verification creates only one layer of security while pushing the entire moderation burden onto reactionary support teams after harm has already occurred. High-risk and marginalized cohorts feel the brunt of unverified, invasive, or malicious accounts.

The Strategic Hypothesis: Shifting from only static checks to peer-verified vouching and member-configured entry barriers allows vulnerable cohorts to curate their own trusted discovery pools, reducing harassment incidents and increasing long-term platform trust.

System mechanics

01

Decentralized Vouching & Trust Pools

Members build trust scores through mutual peer verification and trusted network vouches. Higher verification depth grants access to higher-trust interaction tiers without requiring public exposure of legal identity.

02

Member-Configured Boundary Gates

Users set custom entry requirements for inbound interactions (e.g., requiring liveness checks, verified peer vouches, or mutual connection overlap) before another profile can send a like, stake tokens, or request contact.

03

Stealth Quarantine & Adaptive Moderation

Accounts flagged for suspicious, non-consensual, or evasive behavior are silently isolated into restricted discovery pools, protecting high-intent members while preventing bad actors from adapting to detection rules.

Value exchange

What the user gets

  • —Direct agency over who can reach them and under what safety conditions
  • —Stronger protection from bad actors, harassment, and catfishing without exposing legal identity
  • —Confidence to explore and interact within verified, peer-backed spaces

What the business gets

  • —Lower moderation operational costs through proactive, community-driven filtering
  • —High retention and safety satisfaction among vulnerable and marginalized cohorts
  • —Reduced brand risk and platform liability through automated quarantine mechanics

Metrics & evaluation

North Star

Peer-Verified Pool Engagement Rate: Percentage of interactions occurring within member-configured trust boundaries that lead to positive, ongoing connections.

Primary metrics

  • —Trust Boundary Adoption Rate: % of active members setting custom entry gates
  • —Harassment & Safety Report Rate: Total validated reports per 1,000 interactions (DAU)
  • —First-Week Safety Trust Score: Baseline confidence score among newly onboarded users
  • —Reactivation Safety Confidence Index: Perception and return metrics for occasional users

Guardrail metrics

  • —Over-gating creates isolated discovery silos that artificially choke match volume.
  • —New members without initial peer vouches face impossible entry barriers and churn.
  • —Verification friction causes drop-off during initial profile setup.
